KLAVIERKONZERT. "Die Schottische Symphonie von Joseph Beuys"

by Arturas Bumšteinas

This is an audio documentation of the nearly half an hour long performance of the so-called filtering, translation, transcription or real-time instrumentation process.

During his performance in Palais de Wittgenstein in Duesseldorf, Bumšteinas listened to the soundtrack from the Joseph Beuys’ performance "Die Schottische Symphonie" and attempted to transcribe it on the grand piano in real-time.

The recording presented here features the mix of both original soundtrack by Beuys and a transcription by Bumšteinas.

released January 1, 2006

Perfomed in Palais de Wittgenstein, 2006/05/15, as part of the artist's residency in Gastatelier Des Landes NRW in Dusseldorf.
