ACCEPTNIK (2010)

performed by: Arturas Bumšteinas - organ, voice, crotales, sine waves, field-recordings.

The basis for this composition is recording of nocturnal improvisation on St. Severin church organ (Keitum, Germany) which was later augmented with small bits of field-recordings collected in churches around Lithuania and Poland during years 2009 and 2010 (these organ field-recordings constitute a larger sound-archive project called „Organ Safari“). Additional sounds of stones were recorded in the dunes of Sylt island, Germany. Initially the title of this composition was „Refusenik“ - the one who refuses or is refused something, but „Acceptnik“ is more precise name for it, because it is waiting eagerly for things to happen within.
